Sometimes separating them helps a little. But roo's do that when mating so I wouldnt hold my breath for a complete stop. Put some Blu-Kote on it. Chickens are attracted to the color red and blood and will continue to peck at it. Cover it with Blu-Kote to help hide it.
I got the rooster from a breeder in Lenoir NC., My first Hens can from a breeder in Charlotte NC. None of them came from a hatchery. My avatar was the first roo
No rush on my part. Think about it and let me know sometime.
Did you get them from A hatchery or an individual?
Do you sale and ship eggs? I would consider that route if need be.
I'm just starting to look around and its really the wrong time of year for hatcheries.
Thats some nice looking birds you have there. I'm really leaning towards the LF Dark Cornish. Do you ever sale any of your stock? IF so I would be interested in talking with you sometime.
No Rooster with these. I let a family member have the Roo for his stock.

I'm not sure how much your willing to spend. BUT what works for me is, I use a stock tank heater in a cooler. I plumed in a fish pond pump and circulate the water thru pvc pipe. I tried plastic water nipples but they would still freeze. I swapped them out for all stainless steel nipples. 2...
I have 2 young Blue Ameraucana Cockerels I need to find a new home for.
Both have just started to crow. IF anyone is interested, give me a shout.

I have around 14 Ameraucana chicks hatched out today. Possibly a few more as time goes on.
If anyone is interested, i'm asking $5.00 per chick. Local pickup only.
Looks to be mostly blues and a few splash.
I know this is a very old thread. I found it doing a google search and thought I would throw a hail mary question out there. I'm looking for all metal chicken water nipples as well. I use the all brass nipples for my rabbits with a heated water system. It never freezes up on me. I want to try...
