She said the closest answer she got was either assisted hatching, or too hot incubator to cause them to develop and hatch faster. The store sent her 6 chicks vs 5 so I think they knew this one might not make it
This is her 2nd batch of hatchlings she has raised, she went through a few pasty butt issues last time. She originally thought this WAS the same, tried soaking it, then realized it wasn't the same, or same area, She said this was attached to the umbilical area. The chick passed last night
A friend of mine ordered chicks from a hatchery and mistook an attached egg yolk sac for pasty butt. She didn't realize until after soaking her. She said she hasn't found much info about other than the chick has a 25% survival rate...she really wants it to make it. If anyone can help it would be...
I added some boredom busters today, all the rain we got completely jacked up the run floor. Any tips on helping it dry faster? It's been sunny today but the run has a solid roof.
It does have wire buried all around :) Oh and our house is grey and cream colored. Not very interesting lol. I was thinking maybe a light blue. Not too sure yet! I think whatever it will be, I'll do the trim grey to at least match a little
We have the general build done, now I just need to add trim and paint it!
The coop was built by my friend who originally had these chickens, she has to move to a rental so we brought them plus the coop home. It was awful to transport. We rebuilt the run and just got finished with that...
I have 3 Buff Orpington's and 2 that are Black Sex Link, I think, not very sure. We got them from a friend, and she hasn't replied with what breed they are. Can anyone help me out?
