I love my Olive Eggers. My favorite is Fiona! She’s one of my original flock, and is three years old now. She’s just turning into quite the stately matron of the flock!
If there’s chick feed in there, my dainty Polish hen will squeeeeze her self thru a gap a 4 week old chick struggles with!
This is her just waiting for that door to open up.
For anyone who was curious, the chicken on the front roost bar ended up being the Ameraucana. I just caught her in the act of laying the egg closest to blue (sometimes teal sometimes pale blue) today.
I feel like if your leghorns were anything like the ones I had in the past, it would be easy to tell by behavior. The two brown leghorns I had were bat crap crazy feral.
She ended up being 100% a Welsummer. No white earlobes and she lays a nice chocolately egg with speckles some times. And definitely not a leghorn temperament.
On older models at least, Run Chicken lets you do timer, light or manual. And if you are doing light, you can also set a delay as well.
I do not know if these same settings exist with the new Bluetooth controller that works with the door motor that they removed the opening button from.

You can toss some scratch in there to get them to work over the bedding in the coop. That’s what I do when I feel like mine’s gotten too compacted down.
