    I’ll have to look more at Pips and Chicks next time I’m on my laptop. The website doesn’t play nice with my phone. So both chicks are pearl? Even tho the chick in post #1 has a white background and the chick (same one in both pics) in post #3 has a more…well if it was a chicken I’d say buff...

    I’ve been looking there, plus some of the sites it references. Plus poking around this forum. It would be nice to have a great big giant chart of pics to hold the chicks up to and compare tho for people still learning. Like this one, is it Italian? Or Pansy?

    I think she’s maybe Pansy or maybe Italian? Figuring out quail colors is an uphill battle for me! I’m holding off on letting names stick until I know for sure which are male and female and then decide which are excess males going to freezer camp. I’ll pick names given by people in this hatch...

    Which is the Olive Egger and which is the Black Ameraucana?

    I have a 3 yr old Olive Egger from Meyer and she's the reason I ordered another. I'm super happy I ended up with her clone!!! But she has the wider/heavier body of the messier tail one, but the neater/shorter tail of the other. So at this point....who the hell knows??

    I ordered a Black Ameraucana and an Olive Egger from Meyer Hatchery on the same order, hatched Oct 14th. Meyer are known to use Black Ameraucanas for their Olive Egger hybrids. I can’t tell the two apart other than one has a bigger messier tail (front) and one has a smaller neater tail (rear)...

    New hatched chicks

    It’s active, eating and drinking so I’m willing to give it a chance. And that’s good news about the plate. I’ll take it out to give them more room. I still can’t believe how fast the others are growing!

    My favorite one, I think this is Pearl or Perl Fee coloring? Need to take a crash course on quail colors.
