I don't think she'll die then. And she should stand when she wants to. I've knon chickens that recover and mostly stay lying down but eventually stand and walk. Just give her time.
Chickens love yogurt. It's fine as long as it's plain yogurt. Vitamin water should pep her up. It did to my pullet that had mareks. How long has your chicken been sick? If they make it passed day 10 they should survive, I've read. Best wishes.
How contagious is IB? I have 10 other chickens that are seperate from these chickens but they can see them through fencing. Recently thesw seperate chickens have gotten upper respiratory infections. But their symptoms are different from the blue wheatens. They gurgle and have runny noses and...
I have 3 blue wheaten ameraucana's that have constant runny noses. I took them to the vet and had them treated for respiratory infections. They're happy chickens, pecking and eating and active. They just have clear runny noses. The vet doesn't know and I'm hoping someone here will have some...
I had a pullet with the same symptoms and found out she had Meraks. She couldn't stand, her legs having no muscle control. She wouldn't eat or drink. She died within 10 days. If your chicken has Meraks there isn't anything you can do. It's a 50/50 chance that they'll live. I think the older they...
I found a worm in the chickens poop but don't know what kind. They will be seen by the vet. The farm vet should be able to cure worms right? I've never had sick chickens until now and I don't know about farm vets.
She didn't make it to the vet...she died that night...I did everything I could to save her. She probably had worms of some kind. Because I fed her and gave her plenty of fluid but she continued going downhill, not gaining anything back. Or she could have had something else internally wrong with...
I held her last night as she passed...my precious baby died...I tried giving her fluids and she was perkier but she still died...maybe she had worms or maybe she had this from birth... I wish I knew what was wrong with her...I did everything I could to save her...
Yes I have decided she definitely needs to see a vet. I looked up the closest vet that sees poultry and will take her first thing in the morning. It's an hour away but she is very important to me and should be alright with a long car ride. This vet also takes house calls. So if they say that...
No that's not what I've been doing. I wasn't clear abour me raising her I guess. I should have been. I've had her since she was 1 week old and I started her immediately on the medicated chick starter crumble that prevents coccidiosis. When she was 3 months old my father insisted she was old...
There are no worms in the poop. And I have read all up on coccidiosis. The poop is always bloody. At first when my chicken was pooping it was clear. Now it's just normal.
