    Too young to develop caruncles. They're seven weeks old. From what I have read, muscovys don't start developing caruncles until sixteen weeks old.

    Anything is possible. When they first hatched they didn't have the normal black and yellow pattern that I'm familiar seeing on muscovy ducklings. Thanks so much for the link. Im just starting to research into their genetics as I'm gaining more of an appreciation for the breed.

    I think I bought him as a Welsummer pullet chick this spring. The other three have the correct coloring of Welsummer pullets, but have small crests like legbars. I just consider him a hatchery mutt, but I really do like the looks of him so thought I may as well ask.
