Yeah? One out of six... Sounds about right for the odds of 2020.
Thank you, everyone, for playing along today and helping me decide who is coming to dinner and who is going to make it all winter.
Ironically this is the only chick I named from the six that were hatched 7/25/2020. I'm hoping Meredith is a pullet... This one is very skiddish and I can barely get a photo of it.
I'm pretty sure this is the one that crows from the coop. The six chicks hatched 7/25/2020 (almost 4 months ago) all stay in a different coop than the original rooster. The tail feathers on this one say ROO to me... This one has quite the attitude. So far this is chick 5 of 6.
Is this a pullet or a cockerel? I'm not sure which hen from my flock I got the egg from. I'm not sure which hen in my flock gave me the egg for this one. The rooster was a first generation Easter Egger. It hatched under my brood hen on 7/25/2020.
I'm guessing pullet on this. I've been...
Is this a pullet or a cockerel? I'm not sure which hen from my flock I got the egg from. It could have possibly been from one of my Lavender Orpingtons. The rooster was a first generation Easter Egger. It hatched under my brood hen on 7/25/2020. Someone is crowing from the coop. I possibly...
Is this a pullet or a cockerel? The hen may have been a Buff Orpington. The rooster was a first generation Easter Egger. It hatched under my brood hen on 7/26/2020.
I love this candid photo of my brood hen, Blondie and two of the chicks hatched July 25, 2020.
The chick on the left is Yang. The chick on the right is Meredith. (Yes, I named the chicks from this hatch after Grey's Anatomy characters.) Theme named hatches help me keep the hatch groups...
Yep, I agree with Punkybrewster (above). Turn the main light off. Turn the heat lamp on. Set out food and water. They may have trouble finding their way into the corral. Heck, my big hens can't find their way into the fenced in yard sometimes and I've had them over a year.
Put the terrier...
