Do you really want to put down herbercide where your chickens will be eating?
Weed burners do work to an extent, but they are not a solution to weed and grass, esp if you are trying to run a wire a couple inches off the ground. Also 2" off the ground is pretty low, lots of critters...
Right, since Americaunas are purebred they are going to be more predictable in terms of size, personality, growth rate, appearance, etc. (assuming they are from a halfway decent source)
How Easter Eggers compare will depend on what breeds they are mixes of. An Easter Egger that is Americauna...
For the one who asked: CPVC is more flexible than PVC. So flexible that if I were to use CPVC for the hoops (which would be easier to bend), I'd still use PVC for and straight supports. Both are susceptible to UV damage though I am not sure which is worse.
I was considering doing a deep litter in conjunction with the poop board/hammock. In my part of the world it gets pretty humid for a decent portion of the year so moisture management could be a problem even with lime/DE, particularly in the spring and some summers.
I've been looking at designs for both but am rather confused as to which more closely fits my goals...obviously I would like to have the most effective solution that requires the least amount of maintenance...but that can be a bit of a pipe dream lol. More importantly I'd like to keep my future...
I've downsized. Currently have three freshwater setups: a mixed South American 90g, a fully planted 29g, and a hardscaped 20L with N. brevis juvies. I have partial water changes down to a fine art.
