Jan 28th Hatch date. Anyone else?

The third one in the small incubator hatched in the last hour, at this rate it is going to take another week for all of them to hatch. The other bator had one pop this morning and has two that have pipped, but on the wrong end. This is the part I hate the most, waiting and waiting....

So how did everyone else do??? The last updates I see are candling or one hatched and waiting on the rest.

Jan 28th Hatch date. Anyone else?

Incubating eggs is always great when the hatch part goes well, it is very frustrating when you wait the three weeks and run into problems. I had the one hatch yesterday in the small incubator and none yet today, this is day 23 on that one. The other incubator had two pips last night, one of...

Jan 28th Hatch date. Anyone else?

Well the first part of our hatch is going slow. Have the 10 RIR in the turn-x and one hatched yesterday early am, just had the second one pop minutes ago and have another one that pipped. I hate when I get these drawn out hatches. We will have to see how the other 20 eggs do in the brower...

Jan 28th Hatch date. Anyone else?

I just candled again tonight, from the original 59 I set I am down to 30. Only one or two quitters, the rest were non-starters, or clear what ever you want to call them. Thanks or the pointers on a turner for the incubator, never thought about a crank. I just about have the electrical work...

    Trouble candling eggs

I have problems with certain eggs being able to tell what is in them when it is still early in incubation. Once you get around 12 to 14 day it becomes much easier. They tend to be much more mobile in there making it easy to tell something is in there alive. As long as they are not stinking...

Jan 28th Hatch date. Anyone else?

Sounds similar to mine. Building it out of birch plywood, but it is going in the dining room so I need a nice maple door and top. I have a combo wafer thermostat (back-up) and digital thermostat (primary) Heating for now is two lightbulbs. Have two 110 VAC fans for air movement down a false...

Jan 28th Hatch date. Anyone else?

I'm a tad behind you, I'm due the 31st and 2nd. What did you build for an incubator? I am currently working on a cabinet. I should have it done tomorrow and will move everything over if it works this weekend.

    So any advice???

I am not sure what model it is, but its the current model. Got it off of craigslist only a year old. It will be going back on after this hatch since the variation motivated me to build a cabinet.

    So any advice???

My Brower is bouncing between 98.7 and 101.2 (usually sitting in the 99's) and 80% were growing fine, so I would be exstatic if mine stayed that tight. My Turn-x stays with-in ±0.2 and that is staying rather tight. You'll be fine.

    Please Someone Help Me!!!!!!!!!!!

Add just enough water to get around 25%. The Brower I am using this year is a pain to add water to so I take it up to 40% and let it drop down to 15% before I add again otherwise I would be like you down around 10%.

    Help !! Homemade incubator

Another thing to remember is heat rises, so if you have a very tall inside, you will have all the heat at the top, try dropping down the top to force the heat down. Also be careful with the straw in there, it is rather flamable to have by a heat source.

So excited! first time candling and can see some movement! Not sure about the others though?

When in doubt, let them go longer. I find once I get to day 14 or so it gets much easier to tell, a lot more movement and they fill up just about the whole egg. Good luck, it get rather addicting to hatch so be careful or your be overun with chicks.
