    Winterizing a coop

So a lot of you let your chickens out during the winter? I was planning on locking them up. I guess I could get some good plastic and seal up the run... Anyhow, there are vents along the eaves, and I have plans to put a vent in the top where there used to be one, when I lock the girls up at...

    Winterizing a coop

I am not worried about predators, our dogs quickly take care of those. I like a heated waterer idea. As my main concern is about keeping things warm in there. At this point we have not decided if we are going to put lights on timers or not, with that being said we do have very limited light up...

    Winterizing a coop

This is my first year with chickens and living up north in Saskatchewan I know the winters can get mighty cold. We have a coop that is insulated and it seems to seal up well. Any advice or helpful hints on keeping things working properly through these cold months? Sent from my SM-N910W8 using...

We got this little girl with the RIR we purchased. It looks like an Americaunas (sp.) But I don't know all that much about chickens and so many have beards. She should be about 18 weeks old. Sent from my SM-N910W8 using Tapatalk

    Hello from Saskatchewan!

Hello. This spring we decided to get into some chickens as we have been promising the kids we would. It started out rough but we got things handled now. First we found 5 chicks and a dozen 1 year Olds. One of our dogs decided after some time to kill them. He took 3 babies and 9 layers in a day...
