I thought spinach was poisonous to chickens in large quantities but a very small amount is tolerable...ours eat grass all the time and they love oat grass.
I moved the baby ducks (hatched the last one in the incubator) to a brooder..figured it was safer and they can be ducks! Right now I have the baby guinea still out in the coop with mom and one just hatched in the incubator this morning...not sure what to do now..lol
My Guinea was sharing a nest with our Welsh Harlequin duck..the duck gave it up but the guinea has stayed vigilant. Well, finally tonight some of the eggs hatched. There is 1 baby Guinea and 2 ducks. Mom took the babies out of the nest and ventured back into the coop leaving the rest of the nest...
Just to let you know as of today November 27 2019 spade and feather only sells cartons that hold 12 quail eggs...they are sold out of the 24's and have phased them out :(
My husband is Filipino and "ballut" is consumed a lot in their culture. Those are duck eggs that have been incubated for 10-12 days then refrigerated to stop the growth. Then when the eggs are purchased they hard boil them. I personally cannot even watch my kids and him eat them but they love them..
We just purchased our place in February 2019 and we started getting quail in july. We have since acquired chickens and some pheasants. So much to learn!!!
