I have a bunch of 12 week old pullets I need to downsize due to an injury with my hand and have too many to properly cate for right now. Mostly Easter eggers But I have a couple of barnvelders and two old English game bantams as well. Located in Frederick county.
I meant to update earlier but didn’t get to it. Only 2 of the 5 hatch. The air sacs were terribly saddled. One of the two pipped on the wrong end but managed to make it out on its own. Now just hoping I get two pullets.
Updating. I put the smallest 5 eggs into the incubator but because the eggs were
So big and my incubator is so small I couldn’t fit them all anyway unfortunately.
Yeah I am really surprised she sent out such big eggs. It's not something I personally would've done. I'd rather she have waited an extra day to ship if it was a shortage of normal size eggs but oh well.
I would weigh them but my scale is currently out of battery. I may end up just setting the 4-5 smaller ones. Not sure I want to risk it. I had only ordered 6 and she gave me a couple extra so it's not a huge loss.
I ordered some BCM eggs and got these. A couple of them are massive and I’m worried they’re double yolk. Do I incubate them and run the risk or do I get rid of them? I worry about what can happen with double yolkers.
Beautiful eggs! I'm near Mt Airy. I actually just ordered some BCM eggs but if for whatever reason it doesn't work out I will let you know. I had to look up where you are located, i'm still fairly new to Maryland.
