    What breed to get?

    If you have kids, its fun to get a chick of each variety that you are interested in. As long as they are of similar temperments, and the same age, there is no reason you have to get all the same breed. It makes it easy to name them and it's fun to figure out who laid which egg.     Lost three chickens-heads gone only

    This morning we found the headless bodies of four of our hens. We figured it was either foxes or raccoons, now I'm leaning towards raccoons since some eggs were also crushed and eaten. Makes me sick that whatever killed them just took the heads and didn't bother using the rest of it. So sad. We...
