guys what’s the difference between the white female silkie and other sandy female silkies shown below in the picture? they do not look identical to me, aside from their colours.
I’ve recieved these chickens as gifts, but I liked how beautiful they are and how they serve as decorative pets...
I also thought that they are mixes of some different breeds, but all the hens look indentical and a friend who gave them to me said that they’re middle-eastern breed.
To me they look like silkie but in different form of feathers, same egg size and same kind of cry when i hold them.
A.M eggs, do you have any idea what breed is the 8th bird? It’s very mini yet mature, do they procreate like normal hens?
I’m sure the 6th one is a game hen, but not sure what type. She becomes very territorial when broody.
Do australopes lay white eggs?
What gender is this bird?! I bought it thinking it’s a female but when it stands next to the other silkies, it does not look like the females, nor does it look like a roo.
Attached herewith are the pictures of the other silkies, which i recieved them as a gift and kept them in garden away from...
I observed that the new hen is actually spiteful, and she also bullies the other hens but not in a vengeful way, just for the sick of bossing around.
My chickens have never been confined and even their cage is very roomy.
And they have two days of free-ranging weekly.
She’s now the least of...
Lol I’m anticipating a World Chicken War when the new females arrive but i hope the peepers will solve the problem.
I’ll keep the new hen with the defective rooster until i buy the peepers, keeping him away in the garden has helped him tremendously and he is not scared of the females anymore...
I’ve sent the new lady to the other side of house where there is a garden, there’s a rooster in rehabilition there with behavioral problems, His defensive insticts were somehow bred out of him in spite of being the same breed as these aggressive hens. Even a mini bantam rooster bullied him. He...
I’ve came across goggles that block some of the chicken’s eyesight but i don’t know if that would work as some people reported that these googles were almost useless. They are separated but they can still see each others.
I’ve raised many game breeds before and never had this issue, especially...
You’re right, the rooster is doing his job and tried to keep them away from each other, but they just refused any intervertion from him. He then left them and went after the other calm females to flirt with them. This rooster is newly introduced and even though he fought with the little...
In case you’re wondering about the rest of the coop, these are my bodies.
Bad news is that the little roosters start to get legarthic and show end-of-life symptoms.
Hi everybody,
My 4 years old hen won’t stop fighting with a newly introduced hen. The problem is this new hen is very troublemaker and my old hen is very territorial, they just took it very personal.
I never had issus with introducing new hens, every time a new hen joins the flock, they get a...
