Yup hatch is right on 21 days. They start pipping at 20 and are usually all done by 21. Just sexed my last hatch and it was worse. Only got 2 roos maybe. I'm going to start logging all activity in my hatches. It's not like I'm getting anything special I'm just obviously culling before they hatch...
I'm getting insane girl ratios. As hatch was 24 pullets and 3 roos. Of course I set 46 eggs so my guess is the roos are in the bunch of eggs that did not hatch. Trying to find the variable but have not. It's been this way for 4 hatches now. Put 4 dozen in get 27 to 28 eggs hatch with all pullets...
So out of 32 eggs that made it to lockdown I now have 28 very healthy fbcm chicks :) love love love that incubator! Bcm hatch with my old one out of 24 eggs I got 2 live bcm chicks lol.
Great news. The last one didn't have wry neck! I guess it was just a cramped neck from being stuck to the shell unable to move. Moving around with it's head up now :) yeah hatch over!! Lol time to set 36 more lol
One of the assisted hatches has wry neck. Treating with poly-vi-sol but Def not going into the breading group :( so 27 healthy bcm chicks :) love love love my incubator. First hatch 1 out of 24 hatched healthy. This hatch 28 out of 36 :)
So my second hatch is almost over. I only had three assisted hatches and not till all others were out. Those three all had spots stuck to their shell where they were unable to move. I waited though till everyone else had hatched and all pips were done to assist. Which assured those we're done...
Yeah I have two this hatch that probably won't make it. I won't risk helping until all the viable one's are in the brooded and all pips are hatched. Once everyone is all taken care of I will candle the one's that are still not pipping and help those two out. Will be about three days after they...
