1.5yo Heritage breeds 3 months no eggs

Thanks for the reply. Yeah they did lay this time last year. They eat my chicken feed out of house and home so they are plenty full on proper feed but I’ll defs try locking them up for the mornings and only letting them out in the arvo. I usually do this on rainy days anyway and it’s not made...

1.5yo Heritage breeds 3 months no eggs

Definitely no hidden nests not in my yard haha. Nothing could eat the eggs as they wouldn’t be able to get into my coop. And I don’t have any animals where I live that would eat them either. Loads of daylight. Australia is never short of daylight, they laid all through last winter too!

My Aussie Coop based on the Carolina Coops in the US!

Hey Just thought I’d post my coop I built late last year. Cheaper than buying the small crappy store ones. Hopefully it inspires some to give it a crack! It’s a hybrid of the ‘Carolina Coops’ guys in the US and the one built by ‘homesteadonomics’ on YouTube. It has the automatic chicken...

Hey guys First time owning chooks, they are all 21ish weeks old now and finally getting eggs woohoo!! My Wyandotte has suddenly lost its neck feathers and I’m not sure if it’s moulting or if it’s something else. Just wanted some opinions. I’ve never witnessed any of my chooks bully each...

    Silkie sex???

Hey guys. Thanks in advance for the help. Just seeing what you think here, boy or girl? I know silkies take a while but this is about 8-9 weeks old, I have 2 other silkies but this one is by far the biggest I’m praying for a hen. I had 14 chicks from a day old (4 different breeds) and 10 so far...

Lack of feathers on 6week Orpington

Its not the chick feed the feed they are on is fine. All the other birds have fully feathered. They are seven weeks old now and she still looks rather similar. I have put vitamins in the water now but surely this is more common and someone knows what’s up. Hopefully no long term issues and she...

    Blue Australorp sex?

Ok another guessing game here I’m hoping like hell this is a female because it’s my favourite one out of the bunch. it’s a blue Australorp (I’m pretty sure) its 7 weeks old and has been fully feathered like that since it was about 3-4 weeks old. Although it’s comb is large it’s feathers...
