I had testing done. Also, just on the other side of the fence it is lined with YIkes! railroad ties! I have had five chickens die. I go them when they were 10 weeks. They are now 20 weeks and I fear that this is what caused their demise. I am awaiting necrospy results from the last poor girl.
My hens scratch and peck all along the walls and fence lines of the range area. I am worried because of high zinc levels (231 ppm) in the fenced area with railroad ties. Any thoughts? Thank you so much for considering!
Thank you for the reply! She is 20 weeks - not yet laying. She was going a little crazy in isolation cage even though it's a big one. Had her in my sunroom. So, I put her back out on the range area today. Then, what do do about vent picking?
Good morning. This is my first post. I am attaching photos. Not sure if this is gleet or something else. Peace's poops all look normal but her fluffy down feathers are missing and there is encrusted yellow/white on lower portion of her vent.
