My local feed store gets them from Townline Hatchery, which gets pretty good reviews. We don't have many other options around here, except for Tractor Supply. We will have 12 hens now, and I already have a beautiful roo, so I will just give this one away and we should be set for a while :)
Yes, I paid the extra dollar for pullets (second time). Last time I ended up with 2 out of 3 roos, this time only 1 out of 6, so I guess I'm doing better.....
Hi, we have two Barred Rock chicks, approximately 5 1/2 weeks old, and we are afraid we've been "roo-ed" again :( The one on the right has a much bigger comb and visible wattle than the other one. We have never had this breed before. Would love to hear opinions of the experts. TIA!
Just posted in another thread but found this one specifically about EEs. We got these three on May 2nd from Townline. Supposed to be all pullets. The middle one seems to be trying to crow and really push the other two around. Thoughts please?

We got three chicks from Townline on May 2nd (they call them Ameracaunas, I hear they are really EEs). We ordered pullets but the one in the middle is bigger and sounds like it is trying to crow. Would love to hear what the experts think. Thanks!!
I picked up these girls this morning, one-day old, hatchery delivered to my feed store.
Supposed to be Ameracauna pullets. Would love an expert opinion. Thanks! :)
We have three RIRs, we think they are all roosters. The smallest has bald spots on his neck and under his wings. Is this okay? He seems fine otherwise. We are planning to move them all to the coop this weekend (we have 11 all together). Will he be okay?
Please help! I've posted on other threads and have been told that one or both of our Australorps are roosters, I think because of the red combs, but all pics I see of Australorp hens have big red combs too. We would love to get opinions from Australorp experts :D
They are between five and...
Thank you.
Do you say that because of the red combs? Or something else you are seeing? (Sorry, I'm a total newbie..)
I've looked at pics of hens from both breeds and they all seem to have big red combs.
Thanks again!
