    Thank you for your reply. They have a constant supply of layer feed in the coop, the corn is only an additional "treat" and not their main stay of food. Thanks again

    They have constant access to the layer feed in the coop as well as water, the cracked corn is only used as an add in. What do you suggest as extra protein? Thank you

    When we built the coop, my husband built it stronger than Fort Knox!!!!! So there's no other vermin or critters getting into the coop area, the run yes we've had a persistent chippy gathering leftover chick treats out there but nothing from inside the coop. Thanks for the response.

    I've been told that cracked corn should be provided during the colder months which allows the birds to generate warmth for them. Mealworms are a great source of protein, expensive but a great source. Thank you. And not all the birds are shedding feathers, so I think it would be safe to rule out...

    My birds are in their second year and for the last 4 weeks I've had no eggs at all. What I do have is tons of feathers in the coop as well as out in the run. Do they molt this late in the year?     I'm a chick mamma newbie - 3 week old chicks in coop question PLEASE HELP!

    Be careful with the spinach, it's not a "friendly" chic food. I give it to mine maybe once a month. I grow/buy heads of leaf lettuce and shred that up for them instead. Also enjoy that grass you currently see in their run, it will be gone very soon as they grow up!!! My girls love strawberries...
