We have not. How do you choose? (Don't say get them all ) We're in Wisconsin, so we're looking at winter hardy birds that are friendly & good layers. We have a 2yo & 4yo who will be participating in the chicken raising. We're planning on having 4 & we are allowed up to 12. Any recommendations?

Hi everyone, I'm excited to learn more about raising backyard chickens! We are preparing to get our first girls, hopefully in the next couple weeks. We're planning on 4 hens (though I've heard a thing or two about "chicken math") Any advice for this novice is appreciated! Thanks!
