Thank you for this thread.
My 6 year old has an (assumed) unrelated GLS pair, and we are getting him a few more for Christmas. He shows them, and makes quite a killing off eggs and chicks. Thought about getting my 4 year some silvers, but didn't want to have to keep them separate. I guess this...
I have some show quality GLS eggs if anyone is interested in hatching them. We have 5 under our broody and all showed development at 10 days.
I'm between Tampa and Lakeland, but will be driving to Gainesville tomorrow (Tuesday) if someone wants to meet me on the way along 75.
Our chickens free range and so do our goats. We have a 5 gallon bucket up on a cinder block for the goats, with one cinder block next to it for our one little Nigerian goat to stand on to reach. The others are full size and reach without the block. It's on the block to keep the ducks from...
Our neighbor has a LaMancha buck and lots of different does. I'd say she gets 2/3+ babies with gopher or elf ears or more with the buck and none of the does are part LaMancha. Some are Boer cross and one was a Nigerian/Alpine/? cross.
I'd look into all the different kinds of goats:
Dairy goats (Nigerian Dwarfs are dairy goats)
Market/Meat goats (Boers are meat goats)
Or just any cute pet goat... mixed, etc.
What do you want from your goat? Just a pet? Do you want to be able to sell babies for pets? milk? meat? Do you want...
We have a drake that sometimes acts this way. I think it's just "boy" behavior. He seems to be worse when anyone is near his girls' eggs/nest and when they are laying. He scared my 4 year old, but we learned that if you just chase him back he runs. He really loves my daughter (they are her ducks...
We got 5 eggs on a Thursday (Muskovy nest that had been raided by a possum) and guessing from the one egg that was partially eaten, we figured if they didn't hatch in a week they probably wouldn't. Our incubator wasn't set up yet, but we figured it couldn't hurt. We had some temperature...
What kind of ducks are they?
Our Pekin hens lay in bursts. We will get an egg almost every day for 3-6 weeks, then they will take a break and start again a few weeks later. I know it can be somewhat seasonal, but we are in Florida, so our seasons are all out of wack anyway.
Our females...
Goats might not multiply as fast as chickens, but they multiply just the same! We have 4 now, but if we don't sell most of our kids when they are born- in less than 2 years I can see how we could be swimming in them. LOL.
I have a hen that had these issues over a year ago. I was super-scared that we had Mareks, but it turns out it's just some neurological issue/injury. She's just fine now, though still wobbles and stumbles more than a normal chicken. Otherwise she's healthy, though she had days when her legs seem...
When I looked into Corid/Sulmet/wormer for ducks I found that ducks don't typically have problems with these diseases because of differences in the digestive system due to the vast amounts of water they consume. We've raised lots of ducks and have never seen any symptoms of these diseases in the...

It's saying 13101. Its on the west side of Macintosh, just north of Franklin. I live really close. Want some duck eggs?
It's just south of 301. Go north from I4, go through "Antioch" and it is on the left just past Franklin. There is a sign, and you go down a dirt drive. It's usually a happening place on Saturday. The "junk" auction is as 10am, and the livestock starts at 1 or 2 pm. We usually drop off animals...
