    @kimberley848 there is still a little pi k around the edges and some splotches around her foot. It's hard cause it's the back toe. Like you described it's a very large hard scab. I might like you. Eventually pull it away to make sure it's fully cleaned out again and let it rescab.

    My whole coop is painted with exterior paint on the inside. Tough stuff. I have a poop board underneath the roost bar. I may have to go around looking for splinters and such.

    Washing eggs

    So they finally started. Some have been muddy, and or poopy. We are learning to lay in the nesting boxes. (we are slow learner's) When we go wash eggs for use or they are really dirty. Do we use just warm water or warm water and Dawn. I have been using Dawn so far and washing by hand. Thoughts?

    My flock was hatched may 20th. No eggs yet. Anything I should be doing. They have a wonderful coop and nesting boxes. I have everything setup. Anyone have some tips?
