URGENT: Hatched chick that can’t walk

I put her in the cup until tonight, and while she is better she’s not perfect. Her legs were still splayed so I tried the bandage around the hock method. Any further advice? I’ve also tried bandaging the toes of her foot that curl up open, she can’t keep it from curling up and throwing her off...

URGENT: Hatched chick that can’t walk

She is a poult? Thank you for responding! Didn’t take her out cuz there’s other babies hatching, didn’t want to shrink wrap them. So I just get any cup and put paper towel in the bottom and leave her? What about after that?

URGENT: Hatched chick that can’t walk

I hatched out my first batch of turkey poults, and I’m very concerned for the first hatched. She can’t walk right or control her legs, and I’m not sure how to help. She’s about 24 hours old now, which I know is young, but I’ve hatched dozens of other chickens and peacocks and never had a chick...

    Call ducks

Metzer Farms! I’ve ordered from them for years and they’re an awesome hatchery.

My duck got her beak snapped off by a predator.

Hello! My poor sweet duck got her beak snapped off by some kind of predator, we aren’t sure exactly what. She had no other bodily injuries and the bleeding stopped, but I’m not sure what to even do or if she can make it at this point. I’ve isolated her in a clean warm space after giving her a...

    Strange bump on Turkeys head

I recently noticed a strange growth on both of my Turkey tom’s heads, they are hard and callous and don’t want to come off. They are acting totally normal and eating well, just wondering if anyone knows what it is and if I should be concerned? None of my hens are infected with them.

URGENT: My Turkey hen was degloved by a predator.

Here’s a picture of her wound so far, is there anything you recommend? I’m not sure if the skin is bonding back to the muscles.

URGENT: My Turkey hen was degloved by a predator.

She is yes, is that possibly what caused it? I assumed it was a predator because we saw a fox earlier that day outside her pen. She and five other hens are with one Tom though.

URGENT: My Turkey hen was degloved by a predator.

I’m not sure her exact weight, I would say somewhere around twelve pounds, she’s a full grown bronze heritage hen. The only photos I have of her right now are after she’s been treated and sitting down with her bandages. I can go get one of the treated wound if it will help. The image I attached...

URGENT: My Turkey hen was degloved by a predator.

My Turkey hen was degloved by a predator last night, and from under her wing to her chest her skin was pulled off and down. It was hanging in a large flap of feathers and skin, we pinned it back together after cleaning it out and wrapped her in bandages, but she won’t leave the bandages alone...

If I take newly hatched ducklings from their mother for the night, will she take them back in the morning?

I’m more concerned for the ones hatched rather than the ones hatching because they stray away from her at night. Thus far she’s only lost one egg, but I’m concerned a baby will poke its head out from under her to explore and the rats may grab them.

If I take newly hatched ducklings from their mother for the night, will she take them back in the morning?

Unfortunately that would mean she would abandon the rest of the hatching eggs. Once you move them they don’t sit on the eggs any longer.

If I take newly hatched ducklings from their mother for the night, will she take them back in the morning?

My broody duck has laid eggs and has hatched out two ducklings so far, I’m concerned for their safety at night because of a rat infestation that recently occurred. I was wondering if I put them in the brooder for the night for their own safety, will she take them back in the morning? They’ve...

Urgent! Very emaciated peacock chick, how to help

Thank you for replying but sadly he just passed :(. How can I tell if the other two are starting to catch it? I’ve added organic apple cider vinegar to their water and made sure they were nice and warm.
