Boy not anymore!!! Live northwest Idaho and I e watched the cost of living skyrocket! Locals have a hard time buying here and kids are having a hard time moving out on their own with out going broke!
I got them from a private seller, but her chicks are fine it seems. I got some doxycycline today, I’m going to try this. They were all sneezy and wheezy and stopped eating and drinking. This guy is eating drinking and pooping. He stinks more than any bird I’ve smelled before tho:
I have a 2.5 month old showgirl chick. He/she has been sick for a good month now. Everyone else died except my satin cockerel. Had bubbly foamy eyes now his eyes just are stuck shut sometimes and sometimes not. He’s kinda wheezy and sneezes a lot. At this point, he doesn’t seem to be getting...
I tried that with one of my speckled Sussex. No luck but that was for feet. I gave him some rooster booster b12 and another b2 supplement yesterday and this morning he looked a little more mobile. 🤞🏻
Do they get that when they’re few weeks old? He seemed fine before. Hopefully not merecks. They’re all silkie/satin she said and two polish. I bought all vaxxed chicks this year except these guys. 🥺
I bought a couple chicks last week and they all seemed healthy enough and the other day I noticed that one of them was hopping, and I thought it was kind of cute and then I realized it was hopping because one of his legs aren’t working… I’ll find him laying there with his leg out to the side...
My prairie bluebells are rude. They sound like the raptors on Jurassic park. I had 3 the nice one died of course. They’re pretty tho and lay pretty eggs!
Hi! I’m Sara. I too, live in north Idaho. I’m fairly new to chickens as well. I started last year in March or so. I’d had them years ago, but this time, I’m more mature and love them! Winters are rough, but we did ok last year. I put Vaseline on my chickens with the big combs and I bought the...
Hi I live in North Idaho. I have a small little farm with just under 40 chickens… Interested in meeting like-minded people to talk with that live in the area!
What did your rooster end up looking like? I have 3 Isa Brown, they were supposed to be pullets but I think I have a cockerel. He is awesome personality wise but he’s a boring white. I’m gonna keep him but hope he gets flashier.
It looks yellow to me…☺️I’m assuming the one that’s red and yellow will turn red? Isa Brown is a new breed that I hadn’t heard of. Im relatively new to raising chickens!! I don’t mind if he’s a cockerel as I lost mine in January… 😭
