I have the exact same incubator... for part A there should be a plastic mesh screen (not metal). For part B they’ll possibly roll together as soon as you set them in but eventually they’ll all be wedged against something and won’t move. Everything will be just fine I wouldn’t worry about them! 🙂...
Our TSC has had chicks for a few weeks now and they haven’t seemed to be selling very fast. At other farm stores they seem to be selling at a normal pace... could be just my location but that’s my experience. Got 4 batams from TSC a few days ago! They had a very good selection.
The chick has never been able to straighten his legs and walk. I’ve checked and it appears that the tendons are in place.. I’ve tried hobbles... makes the situation worse. I’ve also taped the toes but it didn’t correct the problem. When I taped the toes and tried hobbles it just stopped trying...
I have a chick that is a little older than a week.. the other chicks are almost triple the size of this little guy ... he also has curled toes and walks on his knees. It seems like he eats and drinks occasionally. It appears that he’s not as active though.. tends to lay around and sleep but will...
During the spring/summer it would be similar to a chicken tractor so it would be moved daily. Winter time it would just stay in one spot. I’ve seen some people use vinyl flooring what are your opinions on that?
I have a metal swingset frame which I figured would make a good portable coop/ run.. what’s the lightest way to make it? I’ve seen other forums where people recommend cement floor vs wood but that wouldn’t be possible. Any other flooring suggestions?
I’ve never had predator problems during the day with any poultry. Maybe that’s just luck? I pin up my chickens at night so the same would apply to the ducks.
