Exciting update....sorry took so long. "Miracle" is doing just fine. We matched her up with a friend and separated her from the flock for a while. She has been in the coup with all the others for weeks now and is doing great! Resilient little bugger:)
I am away and my wife and daughter are on medic duty. ..I hope she continues to progress. She is eating and drinking:) We added a friend to her new temp home and they are getting along well. Thought it might raise her spirits. We are putting some amox in her food to help against infection...
Thanks so much for encouraging me to do what I knew had to be done. The "spear" is out and she is resting in a separate location. No bleeding, but I used the antibiotic cream. It is by no means a small wound though. If she does make it, it would be a miracle and she would have a new name..
It definitely went all the way through, she is kind of just sitting there. My son tried to offer her some food by hand, she stood and walked up the perch. (unstable) I guess the question is do I remove the "spear"?
