Wow. Well I’ve spent the morning calling around different vets and nobody can help me. I’ve also called animal control and the state vet office. I’ve been feeding my chickens feed and dried grubs from a company called Grubblys. And every other gallon of water I would try to supplement with a...
Hi.
Two weeks ago I posted about a salmon faverolle of mine “fluffy” that started walking backwards, drunken, flapping wings, trunk head sideways. I’ve tried most everything from antibiotics and probiotics, to vitamin B selenium and vitamin E supplementation. I’m giving up now and I think I...
She just isn’t getting any better. I’m going to have to euthanize her I think. Not looking forward to doing that but there’s nothing local under an hour from my house that will see chickens.
To make matters worse when I went up to my main coop yesterday, another one of my six month old Hands...
The voice in the background is my partner trying to figure out what was going on with her. It was one of the diagnoses he found that might explain what was going on. We isolated her immediately. It’s now been 10 days that she has been separate from the rest of the hens. Her coordination really...
Do you think she could have something other than wry Neck? We did give a little bit of antibiotics initially. Now that we just put probiotics in the water she’s drinking. Should we add any vitamin B?
OK. I’ll cut back on the selenium. I’ve been doing two vitamin E tablets for each egg that I cook. I’ve read that people literally just put them in their beak and make them swallow but it’s hard to believe she’ll do that.
Thank you. It’s been over a week now and I’ve been scrambling her 1 to 2 eggs a day with vitamin E pills that I squeeze into the egg as well as a selenium tablet.
Her neck was really out of sorts and now it seems to be straightening out, unfortunately she still only walks backwards and is still...
I use the layer feed from Grubbily‘s. It’s really nice and the chickens love it.
I can try to get a picture of her eyes, but they look the same to me and they are quite bright and clear. No signs of infection or odd colors that I can tell.
Also no injuries that I know of. I can’t see anything...
Hi. New member because I need advice. I’ve had chickens on and off for the last five years. Most recently I have a six month old salmon favorolle that got wobbly walking funny walking backwards and then ultimately settling with her head down and her tail up in the air.
Researching what is wrong...
Hi. I have a Salmon faverolles it’s about six months old. I noticed yesterday morning that she had made it down the ramp from the coop but then didn’t seem to have any balance and when I approached or did an awkward backward maneuver. I separated her from the rest and put her in a dog kennel...
