I am new at hatching duck eggs, and I was wondering what temperature I should set the incubator at? Also, how many days does it take to hatch mallard eggs? What day would I need to stop turning them? Thanks.

Is that the same with the wild flying mallards?

If I remove my mallard eggs after they are laid, will the hen continue to lay or only lay a certain amount of eggs? I would like to get some eggs and hatch them in an incubator then let her hatch some herself.

They are in a pen. I'm wondering if it could have been that I have them in a covered pen. I did get my first egg today. If I take the eggs as they lay them, will they continue to lay until I stop? Or do they only lay a certain amount of eggs and thats it?

Is it too early for them to be laying in South Alabama?

I am new to mallard ducks and was just wondering why my mallard hen may not be laying. She has had her drake with her for almost a year now and she hasn't shown any sign of laying. Is it too early or could it be something else. Any advice would be greatly appriciated.

I have never used a red light bulb and all of my chicks have turned out fine. I use the cheap 60 watt bulbs and it seems to do the job.
