    Rooster behavior, is this normal?

    I have a maturing RIR rooster that is doing the same thing. It concerns me that he seems to view me as competition. I reached for one if the hens today and he didn't seem to like it much. I have two boys that wouldn't really appreciate being attacked. Should I just butcher this bird?
