    Ok. Since there were no sounds or further movement, I gently removed pieces of shell starting at pip/crack. 2 were all yolk, only made it as far as veins. The other 3 had either quit or otherwise died before hatch stage. Momma must have purposely cracked them maybe smelled the icky smell...

    I would really like to hear this one. My broody hatched 4, and left the rest behind. Don't have an incubator, so have them under a heat light with a dampened paper towel over them. Yesturday was hatch day, so I still have hope. Candled them a bit ago and the cracks that are around the eggs...

    Thanks, Guess I have to rehome another one. My group from this year sure has shrunk. That house in the country has not materialized for us yet.:(

    My Standard Light Brahma is getting some feathers that worry me a bit. And.. she is already bigger than my 1 yr old buff orpington. Already had to rehome my 2 polish for being boys.... So can I still call her Sarah, or do I need to change it to Sam? About 12 wks old.

    This is my first time having polish. Here are my 3, at 5 weeks old. The black one, Fireball, started out being quick as lighting, but now prefers to sleep and hang out under the heat. Any guesses on gender?

    I also have a standard light brahma who is a week older than Virginia. Here is her wing feathers at same age as Virginia. First pic is Virginia at 2 wks. 2nd pic is the standard size at 2 wks.

    So here these 2 are at 2 weeks old. Virginia is getting a very slight upward curl on her wing feathers. Do you still think brahma? Or is it possible I have a frizzle?

    Viginia wing growth, Clairabelle's is pictured already.

    The wings on Clairabelle seem to be growing in faster than Virginia's.

    my son works at Coastal in Eugene. they have chicks. there are assort brown, assort white, buffs, silver lace Wyandot.. meat chicks.. maybe others can't remember
