    What is YOUR favorite breed of chicken and why?

    Orpingtons by far are the best. I have 10 hens and they give me over a dozen eggs large to jumbo every 2 days. They are super friendly and loved to be held.

    My 5 week old chicks have been moved to the "big house" and love being outside all day in their fenced run. I leave the coop doors open for easy access to the inside. My question is are they smart enough get out of the rain?? Should I worry if they get wet? Thanks for all your help.
