    High step/some balance issues

I gave a good run from her neck down to her belly, and everything feels normal. Nothing is swollen or puffy, and the vent feels empty. I will continue giving the vitamins until that amoxicillin shows up. Thank you for your help.

    High step/some balance issues

Thank you for your help. Do you mind clarifying what I should watch for to change in her poop? I know she is tipping backward more today, and tucking her tail more possibly to stabilize. That also was leading me toward reproductive problems. That, and her legs seem to be spread wide.

She must have impeccable timing. This is post soak poop. I also noticed she is holding her tail down after her soak.

    High step/some balance issues

All six chickens roam the yard when I get home from work. I've also wondered if she got into something.

    High step/some balance issues

Her right foot is slightly swollen, but she high steps her left. She hasn't had free choice calcium until this started. I was wondering if there was an internal egg problem. Hence the calcium. I will try to get pictures of her droppings. As far as mites, I feel like the elector PSP should have...

I also looked her feet over good. The one leg seems mildly swollen, but they otherwise look clean and in good shape.

    High step/some balance issues

I've had this 7-8 month old chicken for 3 weeks. I always thought she was a little round, and goofy, but now I'm beginning to get concerned. She seems to have a healthy diet, and is relatively active. She walks funny, and stumbles sometimes. She still roosts at night, and has not started laying...

    Lice/wry neck/scabs? What is happening?

Vet care is not an option. Update. After treatment, we are slowly getting better. She won't keep her shirt on anymore, but she hasn't been picking. Thank you for your guidance!

    Lice/wry neck/scabs? What is happening?

Got my lady and her friends dunked in elector PSP today. I got a lot of lice off of her. Got my lady cleaned and treated with iodine with a cute little shirt to keep her from picking. The mass has now separated from her body. Nobody knows what's going on.

    Lice/wry neck/scabs? What is happening?

I was told she is right at egg laying age, so maybe 20 weeks. The elector PSP came in the mail today, so I will be treating her with that. I have cats who go outside, so I'm hesitant to use permethrin. I will be sure to clean the wound. The mass on her back is about 3 in side to side, and 3 in...

    Lice/wry neck/scabs? What is happening?

I was given this lady two weeks ago. I'm new to chickens. I started giving her vitamin e and b when she started with the wry neck. Then I noticed she has bugs and a big mass on her back. She has now picked the mass open. I will be treating her with elector psp as soon as it arrives in the mail...

    Momma quail!

This is a good question! I think I just got lucky with this one. She is a good mother too. She takes them "foraging", has led them to water, and she's protective. She makes little clucks to lure them along😍 🐤🐤🐤🐤

    Momma quail!

Regretfully there were 11 eggs. If I were to let her hatch again I'd probably do 8 or 9 eggs. She could cover all 11, but not always. Before I split her off, other hens kept laying in her nest and she had almost 20 eggs 😳😳... I split her off and thought I got it down to 9 or 10, but there must...

    Momma quail!

I just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for all the information they post. I started raising quail in 2023, and this forum has been a huge help! I would also like to share that one of my hens went broody and hatched out some babies! I am excited because I have them in a wire bottom...
