We just had the same thing happen to our Buff Orpington named Lady. She was fine this morning when I gave them some leftover bread and corn muffins. A couple of hours later she's flopped over dead. The other four layers are fine.

Last weekend we had a Cooper's hawk checking out our coop and we managed to catch it on video. Just a reminder that the extra money you spend on hardware cloth (instead of chicken wire) is completely worth it.
My design was roughly based on the Catawba Coops design, with some modifications to increase the interior space. It’s also a foot wider at the base. Beware of these design changes, however! You will wind up with a portable coop that isn’t really all that portable — I think ours weighs about 150...
