Help! Needing my hen to miscarriage, she will die otherwise.

Thanks everyone for all the advice! It’s good to hear what everyone has to say. This has stressed me out quite a bit, and now I at least have a plan and some hope.

not this time sadly, I’ve broken many broods so I wish it was that easy.

Help! Needing my hen to miscarriage, she will die otherwise.

Ok, thanks for the advice! I’ll give her half a calcium pill (ground up) tonight and let her drink some sugar-electrolyte water, my electrolytes have a few vitamins like A and B12 in it so hopefully that helps. Tomorrow I’ll give her a full pill and try feeding her some boiled eggs too. I’ll...

Help! Needing my hen to miscarriage, she will die otherwise.

Will the calcium pills with magnesium be ok for her? That’s all I have right now. I have some chicken electrolytes I want to put in her water to help her stay strong since she isn’t eating. Should I add some sugar to her water for extra calories since she isn’t eating? I’ve tried this before...

Help! Needing my hen to miscarriage, she will die otherwise.

The feed I give my hens is made with concentrated layer feed and is following the formula for layer feed from the feed company. It’s identical to layer feed in all its nutrients. I’ll try the calcium pills because I’ve been told that helps them do contractions too. Also, that really sucks with...

Help! Needing my hen to miscarriage, she will die otherwise.

I did give her a dish of calcium, several times, and none of the hens touch it. I’ve given my whole flock extra calcium in their feed sometimes up to double what they get from layer pellets and she doesn’t lay any shells. This isn’t a supplied calcium issue. This is why I don’t bring up that...

Help! Needing my hen to miscarriage, she will die otherwise.

for the final set of questions, I know this is because of her laying an egg because she’s taken longer and longer every time and her symptoms are identical to previous instances where she’s done this. She shows no other signs of disease, and when she has to fly or run away she does so normally...

Help! Needing my hen to miscarriage, she will die otherwise.

quite a while ago one of my leghorns laid 2 rubber eggs at night, and this was after they already laid a normal egg during the day. The two eggs were shrunken and didn’t have shells because the yolk was dropped prematurely and the egg was laid before it was properly developed. I’ve also had a...

Help! Needing my hen to miscarriage, she will die otherwise.

I feed them a self ground feed that’s made with whole grains, concentrated layer nutrients, and oyster shells according to the package instructions. None of my other hens have had any issues laying eggs. At the vets no one is trained specifically in chickens, so they may not have the knowledge...

I’ll try this. As I mentioned she has shell gland issues, so it’s possible she has trouble getting the egg along it’s path.

Help! Needing my hen to miscarriage, she will die otherwise.

Hello, I know the title of this post sounds horrible but it’s the best way to describe what I think I need to do. I have a hen who stops eating completely before she lays her egg, but it can take her several days before she actually lays the eggs. Right now she wants to lay an egg and hasn’t...

    Lethargic 3 year old

90 degrees is still quite warm for chickens, they can tolerate worse, but any other health issues might make them more susceptible. Everything you mentioned except for the pale face sounds heat related. Having a pale face on a chicken could be a sign of anemia or malnutrition. I have found with...

    Roosters foot after injury

your rooster is missing the scutes off his feet, these will likely never grow back. It’s like the chickens nails, if they are torn out by the root, they can’t grow back ever. His feet look like they have healed well despite all this, and he should be fine. He might grow callouses on the...

    Duckling with lame foot

I have a goose with club foot, not exactly the same as your duck, but similar. Water fowl are quite resilient animals, and my goose just walks on the back of her curled foot Instead. As long as your duck isn’t suffering pain, and can still flap their wings, they will likely be able to exist...
