Thanks so much for the help everyone! My girl in now eating till her crop is full, she’s still hesitant to touch her feed but if i mix it with greek yogurt, she runs to eat it! She is still shedding a ton of sheaths, as mentioned above, but we all know that it’s a work in progress! She hasn’t...
Update:
These are some of them pin feathers in her breast bone area, she’s still not eating too much but a little more every day. she also insists on sleeping with me instead of her coop. her comb and wattle are also a little pale, but she’s still active outside. should i be worried?
No she hasn’t laid any eggs, but usually she sits in them, but not today. Yes, she is roosting.
No, she’s the only hen that I have, maybe she picked them herself?
Update:
She’s still being very picky at eating, do not much is getting into her crop, I also noticed that she was bleeding on a couple of her recently pick feathers on her neck, she’s also not sitting on her eggs as she’s in her coop, is there something else to be worried about?
Update:
Today she has definitely lost a TON of feathers, I am purchasing the Valbazen tomorrow and she ate a little more today, now her poos are still runny, some coke out greenish- gray, and other come out very dark, more like black.
Thank you so much, I’ve been racking my head about her all day. I’ll give an update once I start the deworming process or if she just grows out of this behavior. :bow 😌
Thank you! I’ve had her for about seven months. Sorry to keep asking, it’s just that i’ve grown very attached to her and I’m pretty inexperienced in this area. You don’t think that her not eating her feed and a yellowish tint to her poos might also be a problem?
I have better pictures now, she is molting, a new pin feathers are coming in from her neck, tail, and lower leg area. The first photo attached shows more of the red goo, and the second one looks kinda yellowish, could it be yolk?
The thing is I wouldn’t know where to test for worms, we’ve never...
The first picture is of her first dropping about thirty minutes ago, I tried to get the best quality possible. I think she might be about two years old, I didn’t have her as chick and when I got her she looked the same as she does right now and she was laying. I will try to get more pictures of...
Hi everyone!
My single chicken was laying normally (~once every two days) all throughout the fall and the winter, seeing as there is never really much winter to worry about down in Miami, Florida; however, she has not laid an egg in 6 days and she isn't really touching much of her feed, she is...
