    Sleepiest chicks ever!

Never in my years of brooding chicks have I met a pair as exhausted as these two RI Reds. I got them from atwoods (where everyone in their container was happily sleeping), now I have them home and I feel like I never see their eyes! I know they're eating and drinking well, and they're completely...

    Muscovy or magpie?

This is Lunky, my 3-day-old baby. I got him with a pair of (maybe) rouens and a fawn&white runner. Is it possible to tell the difference already?

    Rouen or Mallard?

Just got these kiddos from Atwoods and was feeling curious. Not expecting a definitive answer, but excited for the guessing game.

How to get rid of Biting Midges?

My eldest rooster has been getting his comb devoured by the local carnivorous midge population. I've treated the coop with diatomaceous earth, especially the dust bath area, but they free range during the day. Should I do any other treatment? Will anything keep them away from him while he's out...

    Power outage concerns

I gave my boyfriend's mother a few eggs and let her borrow my incubator on thursday (they started incubating that night). Today (Saturday), while they were out of the house, the power was out for ~6 hours - is this detrimental? Should they toss the eggs out?

    ISO Chinese geese/goslings/eggs

I got him a pair of african goslings to go along with him. It's the best I could do and they seem to be getting along swell.

Should I clip the nail of my Salmon Faverolle's fifth toe?

I have three (twelve-week-old) chicks that all seem to have overgrown nails on their silly thumbs - is this normal? Should I trim them? Will they keep growing and get out of control?

    Two buffs and one saxony?

I'll try to nab everyone a picture of the three when I get home from spring break :))

    ISO Chinese geese/goslings/eggs

I have one solo White Chinese gosling (6wks) and it needs a buddy ASAP. I'd be willing to take any age, any gender, anything. I'm in Cali, Arizona, NM, Texas, and Arkansas for spring break.

ISO any quiet pullets - central AR!!

Does anyone know of any quiet breeds available in central to northwest arkansas? We'll take anything from eggs to full-grown girls, but are unable to take a rooster.

Am I mean for not socializing with my meat ducklings?

I regularly bring 14/18 of my current babies to sit around with me and cuddle on a towel, but choose not to bring my Jumbo Pekins. This is mostly for my own sake, as their breed doesn't live very long before prime killing time and I don't want to get attached. They're still hanging around with...

Pasty Butt or Dried Umbilical Cord? Please Help!

Chicks don't have umbilical cords. Soak the chick in warm water to get the lump wet, then gently rub it until it all dissolves off.

    Two buffs and one saxony?

I got these three ducklings while looking for buffs. One in particular has a lighter bill and less defined stripes - is that a big thing? Do I have two saxonys and one buff or vice versa? A and B have purple bills with pink spots and purpley-grey stripes around the eyes (B slightly lighter bill...

    Chocolate Call or Khaki?

I know it's been a bit, but it's still itty bitty and the others are getting ahead. Also, it has zero of the olive tones my last khakis had, so I'm leaning towards it being a chocolate variety of whichever breed. Sure, it's growing at the same rate they are, but when should I expect it to catch...

When will my WC get his honk?

He's two weeks old and does the normal soft chirpy honks when he's happy, but squeals or peeps when upset. When should I expect to have these chirps turn into honks?
