I recently picked up a Belgian d'uccle roo quite by chance....i'm looking to get him some friends and was leaning towards silkies.... is this a good cross? not many people in my area have specialty breeds...i know of one lady who occassional has amerucana (spelling?) but other than than nothing...
well... the bird has proven itself to indeed be a roo... so my next question- he's the only one i have- i dont want to keep him separate, but my other hens seem to pick on him some and damage his feathers- (the hens are 2 black sex links, 3 red sex links and a danish brown leghorn) what breed(s)...

It seems to be making more cooing noises rather than the traditional roo crow... and more clucking? i'm really not sure at this point i've never had this breed before
