INCUBATING w/FRIENDS! w/Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs No problem!

It's a bobwhite 2 hatched one has curled toes, might straighten up its moving around eating, so we'll see not a total loss. I have a few more maybe a week out maybe not.

    -Raising Bobwhite Quail-

This might be the thread for me if you don't mind a newby, that has failed miserably at hatching bobs, snowflakes the first time. Seems like a lot of experience here.

My first slaughter. (havent done so yet)

Ok, I'm trying to get some bobs on the ground first go was a flop, wild bobs are white meat, I may try some a&m for my own consumption, but bobs, gambels and snow flake are my goals. Thanks for the info.

I've eaten wild quail, is there a preference in domestic? I hear the a&m' are all white meat? Not what I was planning to raise or try to raise.

INCUBATING w/FRIENDS! w/Sally Sunshine Shipped Eggs No problem!

At the time I had one incubator, now I have 2 so I had eggs hatching mid dec. and eggs should have hatched jan 1. The chicks were roller derbing other eggs so I didn't know if that was an issue, I am trying to narrow down issues, as I start over. Thanks for all the input!

Hmm, i'm thinking hatching chics bouncing off incubating eggs was another oops.

One quick question, not that it's a immediate problem. with 2 incubators, if I have eggs on lock down but hatch dates are couple of days possibly apart, will the first hatches damage, disturb the couple day out eggs? We're central Oklahoma folks btw.

New here! Looks like. A fun place to read, learn celebrate victories and lament the failures. Not just new here but never hatched an egg before 3 weeks ago. So sadly I emptied an incubator this morning some snowflakes and butler bobs that I think I over cooked after a night where I saw 106...

New here but been watching and enjoying

Thank you! Well it's kinda re up day for me, did a lot more reading, see where I made some errors. Threw a lot of eggs away. I have 2 styrofoam still air incubators. Turned by hand. I think hand turning might have contributed to the problem. One question about existing eggs, I have one...

New here but been watching and enjoying

Thank you very much, I have read and rereading to catch a few mistakes, enjoying all the way, though. It appears from 18th day candling I had a lot start 1/4 inch dark spot, then quit. One question I would like to pose, just days before last hatch incubator had a gamy kinda smell, not like...

New here but been watching and enjoying

New birds, trying it with a granddaughter, now I'm an eggahollic. Hatched 16 courtnix no problem, already trash a dozen bob eggs with a variety of about 100 incubating, only about half candling at all. I'm enjoying reading and trying to get it right. I would like to have about 10 breeding pairs...
