    Duck tongue looks mildewy

He stopped making that motion, so I haven't done anything else. I'll try the ACV if he starts up again or has other symptoms. Haven't looked at his tongue again.

    Duck tongue looks mildewy

Thanks for the info. Looks like probably the wrong color for candidiasis, according to the info in the link. He's acting perfectly normal today, so I'm not going to worry about it unless I get more symptoms. They love drinking from mud puddles, despite the kiddie pool we keep filled and...

    Duck tongue looks mildewy

Oh good. He's not working his jaw anymore this morning and seems normal otherwise. I guess I won't worry about it. Thanks for your help!

Is it normal for it to be that dirty looking?

    Duck tongue looks mildewy

Our 5ish-month old drake has been constantly making chewing motions the last few days. His tongue looks really gross and slimy. Is this normal?

Duckling pipped outside air cell, 17 hours ago. Assistance needed?

Much smaller than the first one, but doing fine. The membrane is almost all gone. Eaten by the older one, I guess. The bill is almost all healed. Thanks for your help! I expect the membrane must have hardened when I opened to turn it. Either that or maybe clotting blood. At that point...

Duckling pipped outside air cell, 17 hours ago. Assistance needed?

No, the side has something that looks kind of like a blood blister where it was rubbing.

Duckling pipped outside air cell, 17 hours ago. Assistance needed?

The hatch finally happened at about 51 hours. The duckling had stopped "chewing" and started thrusting and peeping. Its bill was visibly bruised or blistered from two days of back and forth against the somewhat hardened membrane. I slowly stretched/tore enough of the way around that the cap...

He seems so exhausted and his brother won't leave him alone to rest. Should I separate them?
