Hahaha! Yes, they do sound a bit rubbish when they start.... we've had a few before... need to get rid of any cockerels as we live in the middle of a town and don't think the neighbours would appreciate it!
Oh right, thanks. That's interesting, I've never heard of a hen developing spurs before. 'I think it's a he' was definitely trying to crow today, I heard it a few times. Not really loud and not what you'd describe as a 'cock a doodle doo'.. more of a rrrrroooooo sort of noise.... or...
