I switch from shavings to sand last summer because I felt the shavings seemed to harbor flies and had more odor issues. Sand works great. Less odor and I use a small rake to scoop it clean like cat litter. I still use shavings in nest boxes though
Does anyone have (or know of someone who does) F3 olive eggs? I have F2s that I just love and would like to add to the flock. I haven found anyone has an F3 project going.
I do have two white ones that I'm not sure what their feathers are doing. The gray is filling in like a normal Silkie. The two black have normal feathers that are curling- frizzled. And a white frizzled. But it's the first two I'm having trouble with. Especially the one in this picture.
I have hatched a few sizzle eggs that were ordered from a breeder. I have several obvious "frizzled" sizzle chicks and a few that have Silkie feathering. Do I describe them as Silkie sizzles? "Smooth" sizzles have normal feathering, right? Like a Cochins feathers?
I have been searching for frizzled polish. Are these chicks from your flock? If so do you sell chicks? I have been looking for several weeks. I have checked in the buy sell trade forum without luck.
I have been searching for frizzled polished. Does anyone have hatching eggs? Or know of someone who may have hatching eggs? Would prefer WCB or buff laced but open to any color combo at this point. Please message me if you know of a breeder or any other lead. I'm located in Florida.
Day 18- went to remove turner and lock down. I have a pip? Several are in there airspace. Do smaller eggs hatch earlier? I recounted days and I have a mix of shipped and my flock eggs. 100 degree +/- 1 decgree was maintained. The only thing different this time was I really left them alone...
My avatar photo is from my F2 olive egger. Lays gorgeous eggs. I hatched her from cpartist eggs. Great stock.
As for my sizzles, they will be mixed colors. I'm so excited!!!
I have my first batch of sizzles due Friday. All of the pictures posted in this thread have me so excited. Everyone's birds are so pretty. Thank you for sharing.
I am looking for a polish breeder in northeast or central Florida area. White crested black or blue and buff polish hatching eggs have been hard to find. I will be willing to travel within an hour or so of Putnam county. I'm hoping to acquire by feb 20th. Can anyone help or get me in touch with...
