    What is he?

We are told arcauna but gold laced i have yet to stumble upon a picture of any similar birds. He's young will he grow bigger and development feathering or is this what hes gonna look like forever? I believe hes less than six months old.

I am not set on having an aracauna we didnt care what his breed was when we got him. im just curious on best guesses on what he is and find an explanation on this "weird genetic disorder of having a tail growing" because the last owner said he wanted to get rid of him because of that (i assume...

If anyone has a rooster similar can you tell me the breed and post a picture of it for me? I want all the facts on this guy and...

My easter egger has never hatched babies before. We let her hatch a baby silkie. We'll she's different from a silkie hen we have let hatch a few times. I can't gage if she is doing good enough I guess? Obviously its alive still and has made it a couple of weeks so its getting what it needs...

Switching them all the chick feed crushing oysters for them now and mama and baby including mom and unhatched baby will be free to roam! I'm so pumped i was worried...

    Chick is internally pipped help!

Thankyou this is why I love this website. It's so helpful. It hadnt occurred to me to switch the feed over to chick feed yet and just allow mom and baby to remain open with the flock (we switch them to chick feed once the babies are a few weeks and eating with the rest but It just hadn't...

    I made a mistake..

    I made a mistake..

Ive hatched chicks before I typically get them used to it by letting the others free range and letting mom and baby roam in the run and have not come across the issue of baby not being able to get in the coop. And the momma silkie in there is grouchy however I've only ever seen her attack a...

    I made a mistake..

The coop is small low to ground. I don't think it would be enough room for a broody to allow anyone in there with them. The run is decent size not huge I do not have a picture of it.

    Chick is internally pipped help!

Yep I figure that makes them the best moms! And unfortunately I live on an island and have only layer feed to choose from here but I may request one of the stores to get that type of feed. Can chicks eat that too? And separating because the coop we have is small so I seperate for a time and let...
