I was curious as to whether straw or pine shavings would be best for heat retention and waste of course. I use straw but they move all of it where the lay their eggs. Well one makes a sorta nest not in the individual boxes..Do they still need the roost bar after they start laying eggs in there...

Ttractor supply uses a hatchery out of michigan. They aren't true breeds either. All mine ended up being Easter eggers. Not 1 bird is producing Xlarge brown eggs like advertised. Really you will never truly k ow what you are buying from any tractor supply and it is not Hoovers. Call the store...
