    Dark chocolate buttermilk cake. Had extra buttermilk and frosting so made one for work!

    I used corn starch for my apple pie filling. After it sat awhile it got lumpy. When I put it in a pie it works great though!

    What do I do in the winter?

    We have a heated waterer outside in the run. We wire cardboard to the fence in their run on the north side. The best thing we do is collect bags of leaves in town and scatter them in the run after it snows after shoveling. Our hens do not like to walk on snow. A bag of leaves in the run is nice...

    Canning beef stock tomorrow. Picked up 35 pounds of bones. 35 cents a pound. Roasted the bones and now simmered in water and veggies. Will can tomorrow as I insulated the attic today

    Put them in a bigger area. That way you could have a warm area under the light and cooler on the outskirts.
