Thanks for the response, I guess I didn't know LED christmas lights are bright enough or the right kind of light to stimulate laying. If that's the case that seems simple enough, and I may just go that route. My outdoor enclosure footprint wise is 40" X 7', so it wouldn't take too many. -

I got 25 plastic clamshell type holders and 2 pairs of scissors from Amazon for $15.99, looks like they still have it I like this style as opposed to a big bowl or something they can move around in, because I like to cycle eggs through where I organize them from freshest/that day’s eggs... -

I may have to just sit and observe for a while cuz I kinda think something like this is going on. There is one hen that is quite a bit larger than the others even though she was hatched with everyone else. I can't say for sure if that makes her a bully but maybe? -

Thanks for the reply and addressing one of my concerns- i wondered about the logistics of moving them twice a week, as I could only really have them in there on weekends. I probably wont do this now, as one of my concerns was stressing/handling them too much -

I am thinking of building a large “day pen” for my quails, like for on weekends when I am home all day, and can periodically check on them. Was thinking just have them on bare ground, and use metal fence posts and chicken wire for the sides and aviary netting for the top? Maybe secure the bottom... -
