Chantecler breeder / owner questions
Hi. We got 2 buff Chantecler chicks. They are 11 weeks old-ish the first 5 pics are Cozette, the second 5 pics are Margarette. Margarette has suspicious feathers. And her comb is wider? Anyone have any 9,12 week pics of their Chanteclers would be great. I also would like to know about this...- Spudlo

Can anyone do the genetic math for me?
I wanted to update my post about our little Rosecomb hen x Bantam Cochin Frizzle roo. Shadow grew up to be so very pretty . He doesn’t have a Rosecomb which I guess is supposed to be dominant ?- Spudlo

Rainy area, dry idea
Took a 2x4 ran the saw down one corner to give it a 20 degree angle. Then used some lag screws into the wall studs. Because the door was so heavy. The door and 2x4 then set flush. Then the legs just take some weight off the wall. I thought of hinges but I couldn't pick it up anyway, so we went...- Spudlo

My rooster Vlad always takes the girls up against the coop for safety. So does this not only make him feel safer but it's also dry. Because the chick is so tall compared to his parents I was wondering about the standard cochin gene, Vlad being a bantam . Like 2 people with dwarfism have a average size kid? But I guess that’s not a thing ?- Spudlo

No, Mrs Bonaparte is the only bantam hen we have so her egg was easy to recognize 😂. And Vlad is the only roo. The comb thing is weird though from what I read . But she came from Wilco so she’s not exactly RC show quality.- Spudlo
