My wife just begged me till i gave up, i pick the pig up tomarrow. From what i gather the average is $1.75 a pound packaged meat after butcher is paid. With food prices thats not bad, also a bag of old hickory king corn planted gives almost a pound of kernal per stalk. Its what i grow for my...

    Help! Too many bunnies!

Canned meat is delicious but looks uber gross, basically youll have rabbit meat that will fall apart like tuna in the end. It works well for casserols. Orrrr you could smoke the meat an make jerky. Also easy but limited ways to use afterwords. Good luck with everything it all works out in the end.

Caught The Thief! Don't Mess With My Orpington!

Yes they are in the hind quarter of the animal between the muscle tissue. If i recall there in the legs, butt and lower back. They are distinct brown sacks like a chick pea mixed with tissue. Just pull the meat where the fibers and fat separate naturally and you'll find em. Best of luck

I have found controlled burns to the underbrush in the woods as a good way to keep them away, doe especially like the thick forest underbrush. Fences have never worked for me, they always get through and for your purpose is really un economical. I took two deer this year im thankful for my meat...

Caught The Thief! Don't Mess With My Orpington!

Interesting thread, for those who have not skinned a coon do not eat it unless you know where to remove there scent glands. Your house will smell as bad as the meat will taste. I hunt and eat everything i kill minus the racoon because who knows what those vermen have eaten.

    Natural Limb Roosts

I have cedar trees for roost and 2x4 in the coop. The birds are always on the cedar tree but it is the highest. On the plus side it does help with smell and they like to scrath the stringy bark off which keeps the smells of cedar fresh. Please post back if you find any studies on this good luck...
