Unfortunately ours only made it about a week. She never really got better but didn't seem to get worse either until we woke up one day and she was dead. I wash I had a better outcome for you. Best of luck with your little man
So we bought some "barred rock" chicks back in the spring but turns out only 2 roos are barred rock. We ended up with a few silver cuckoo marans and a couple gold cuckoo. We are really loving the marana! And now thinking about hatching some eggs soon. So my question is...what would the offspring be?
I know you aren't supposed to feed them dry, uncooked beans. But cooked are ok. But what about sprouted beans? Just like dried pintos from the grocery store? My kid was sprouting some so she could try and grow plants and it got me thinking...🤔
Well a little update...she's still holding on. I'm thinking now her problem may actually be a slipped tendon. That one leg really looks off and that would also account for balance issues(I think). But wound has healed up nice. I'll try to get some pics this evening
We have her in a dog crate with food/water. And so far she seems ok except the wobbles when walking. I have noticed one foot has a hard time staying under her. And sometimes she seems blind but eyes are intact and had no injuries. Really hoping she pulls thru and regains her balance. Thank y'all!
We have a 10wk old GSL chick that I found being pecked in the head by our roo. She was pretty bad but was still showing a lot of fight so we cleaned her up and separated from flock. She is now eating and drinking good, poo looks normal, but she is really uncoordinated and has trouble walking. Is...
So we had got a batch of 10 buff orpington pullets. Eggcept 4 of them are red...any ideas on what they might be? They also have a few black tail feathers. About 8 weeks old.
I agree that 3 weeks looks closer. And comparing to my chicks, they all look like roos. My pullets were much darker. But still a newbie so maybe I'm wrong on that.
We thought we were buying different breeds but seems we got a lot of mixes. Out of 12 barred rocks we got 2 roos that look pure br. But then we got 1 roo that looks pure black Australorp. And a few of the hens are br x red meat chickens??? They are huge but super sweet. Then we also got a batch...
Bought straight run of "barred rock" at Atwood's (a lot like TSC). We have 2 roos(BR), 1 roo that's black Australorp, several BR pullets and and 4 that look like this. All are 8 weeks. these are way bigger than the rest. My for sure roos have been red and these are just turning. Act more like...
