    I did read everything everyone posted! Very helpful and I appreciate it. We have iodine on hand so I've been using that. Brought him inside and he's in our backroom in a cage all nice and dark with some electrolytes and some hard boiled eggs. But I guess my next question is- how in the world...

    Well that wasn't exactly my ideal plan..... :-) I don't normally have a whole lot of time to spend online but I do pretty much just enjoy reading other people's posts. I normally kind of stay in the background.

    And like hecatesmoon said, maybe its bruising. I am in the medical field myself and thought it seemed a little early for an infection but then again, I have never came across someone bitten by a wild animal.

    I admit we screwed up by not doing something the first night but I haven't really educated myself with chicken first aid. We aren't some city people who just got chickens because we thought it would be fun. We have raised meat pigs for years and decided to add the layers to our little "farm"...
