    Ya, that's hot too. The only spot I have that stays high and dry during rains is by my house, sun most of the day. Shaded areas turn into a pond, but they will have plenty of ventilation.

    Thanks, I like the look of the shingles better. It is a barn style, two-storey, with large screen windows on all sides. I'm actually adding removable shutters to the plan for storms and those occasionally cold days.

    Yes, thanks Classy Chick. We're just starting our coop, actually still picking the right tractor design to build. But with a small coop, and a 4 hen limit, that sounds like the perfect way to keep my girls cool during our hot FLA summers.
