I still don't really know what to do... he seems so happy and normal besides the lump on the head... I've seen him eat and drink so I know he at least has that going for him... I think I'll give it a day or two to see if anything changes before I make any kind of decisions...
If she's not moving much, it may be something more than wry neck... make sure to keep her away from any other chicks you have and wash your hands before and after handling her...
Good luck!!
Wow - I feel for you. This is horrible...
Are they in a heated area? Chicks need to stay warm until they're quite a bit older... maybe they're too cold?? If so, that would explain the sudden death... as far as the odd defects - maybe they're getting into something they should be? Or are there...
That's my biggest fear... currently he's in his own little container... happy as a clam too... ugh. Any ideas on what would have caused it?
Searching on the site, the ones I've found with this issue have all been Cochin's and that's what this one is as well... I would think maybe something...
No I've given mine vinegar at about a month. I'm not sure it will help with wry neck though... you really need vitamins for that...
Make sure you dilute the ACV with water. If you have a gallon water container try about 1-2 tablespoons.
How old is the chick?
With the chicks I've had that have had the wry neck problem, it's usually a vitamin deficiency. We buy the save-a-chick stuff at Tractor Supply... it's about $3 for a 3 pack and is mixed in with their water. That will help a lot... Also, try breaking vitamin E gel...

Hi everyone! Thanks for all the great advice. I ended up buying everything that was advised. I've been using the nutri drench and it's working wonderfully!! You can hardly tell there was an issue with them to begin with! I've also started putting the save-a-chick in all the water containers and...
My chicks are on starter feed that we purchase from a reputable feed store... their feed containers are changed daily so I don't think it's an issue with their food... the water is in the plastic chick feeders and is also changed regularly (sometimes twice a day if they get a lot of bedding in...
Since I've posted this, I now have 4 small chicks and 2 older chicks that all seem to have the same issue. There are 4 Rhode Island Reds 1 Americana and 1 older Rhode Island Red. I have separated all of them from the rest of my flock.
Ok so I have purchased EVERYTHING that has been advised...
